We have P.E. outside on Mondays and inside on Thursdays. Please make sure your child comes dressed appropriately for both.

Newsletter - Term 1
In our first term of Primary 7, our first event will be Smoke Free Generation, with our MacMillan Coffee Morning following towards the end of September. In class, we will be starting our Arabic Nations topic and learning about the Arabic language and Culture through the Discovering the World of Arabic programme.
Literacy
Spelling
Pupils will be working on the Wraparound Spelling programme. They will receive new words on Monday; practise from Tuesday to Thursday; and have a spelling check up on Friday.
Reading
Pupils will be developing their reading comprehension skills through Literacy Box activities.
Writing
In CYPIC, pupils will be working on including more conjunctions in their work to connect their writing more effectively.
Our writing focus for this term will be letter writing.
Numeracy
Place Value
Pupils will be consolidating their knowledge of Place Value, working with numbers in the thousands through to the millions and beyond.
Shape
Pupils will be working on 2D and 3D shape with Mrs. Galbraith.
Health and Wellbeing
P.E.
Pupils will be building skills for badminton in indoor sessions and working on their hockey skills outdoors. They will also be developing fitness through the Dalintober Daily Mile.
Health
Pupils will be learning about the effects of smoking through Smoke Free Generation lessons and the drama performance at the Grammar School.
Topic
Discovering the World of Arabic
Pupils will be learning about the Arabic Nations and their cultures and comparing the similarities and differences between their lives and the lives of people in that part of the world.
Expressive Arts
Art
Pupils will create art with a focus on colour using oil pastels. Additionally, we will be creating and exploring Islamic and Arabic art to make art inspired by our topic.
Modern Languages
Arabic
Pupils will be learning Arabic through online lessons from the Discovering the World of Arabic programme.
French
Pupils will be learning French with Mrs. Galbraith.
Religious and Moral Education
R.M.E.
Pupils will be learning about prominent moral Christian figures (Dr. Martin Luther King and Mother Teresa) with Mrs. Galbraith.
Science And Technology
Science
Pupils will be learning about Microorganisms, their effects and how they grow.
I.C.T.
Pupils will be learning how to use common apps and learning to send emails with attachments.
